Hiway

Hiway, also known as Wayhi, is an emcee born in Contra Costa County, CA. At the age of six, he moved to Humboldt County, where he grew to love, study and eventually pursue hip hop music. Hiway built his repertoire early on by relentlessly releasing mixtapes, which landed him opening spots on many bigger-name shows. He has shared the stage with the likes of Wu Tang Clan, Tech N9ne, Dogg Pound, Dead Prez, Slaughterhouse, Andre Nickatina, and fellow Humboldt natives Potluck, just to name a few.  Hiway's music has always illustrated the life of a 9 to 5 worker, tapping in on emotions and battles one faces in his profession. Equally, Hiway has a strong element of humor, cynicism and all-out shit-talking. He specializes in conceptual songs, wields advanced syllabic patterns, and incorporates harmony accordingly. Hiway has released seven mixtapes to date, one group album as Never Die, and released his debut solo studio album, "Roadside Assistance" in 2013. A clip of his song "Gefilte Fish" even appeared on TMZ. In 2014 Hiway was invited to perform at The Gathering Of The Juggalos, and has plans of national tours in the near future. He is currently working on his sophomore album, to be released in mid/late 2015.
