FATBOL @ THE ABBEY PUB, CHICAGO

Posted by Chris Noonan on

FATBOL is excited to be in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend for the 50 year anniversary of The Grateful Dead.  In proper FATBOL form, we will be sponsoring and participating in a very special series of late night shows at The Abbey Pub  featuring members of the iconic Frank Zappa band.  Roister has been turning heads and filling dance floors with their unique brand of psychedelically infused rock, funk, and outright soulful zaniness. Featuring Zappa alumni Ray White and Tom Fowler, they are adding Ed Mann, Ike Willis, and Robert Martin to the lineup for these special shows. Also part of the Roister  lineup is FATBOL founder Brian Swislow who will be holding it down on the keys and organ. While the weekend will include many special guests, Sunday will be particularly heavy hitting as the Large and Local horns join the crew with FATBOL founder Christoper Boa, Parris Fleming of The Heard, Garrick Smith, Xavier Galdon of Chicago Afrobeat Project, and Mark Kondziolka. One of FATBOL’s favorite contributing artists, Robert Marx, will be at the show with original art, as well as FATBOL collaborative pieces. You can view some of his work here: http://fatbol.com/product/ganesh-on-black/.  His limited edition Roister piece will be available for purchase at the shows.

Each night the Abbey Pub will be live streaming the Grateful Dead shows for anyone in the area to roll down for a pint and some family vibes.
The Abbey Pub is located at 3420 W Grace St, Chicago, IL 60615
